Ryder Hesjedal continues to be the top North American cyclist after Stage 5 of the 2010 Tour De France. Michael Barry is in 61 st spot, as well.
Ryder is from Victoria and actaully graduated from my old high school, Belomont Senior Secondary!
Canadians are no stranger to this top cycling event. Alex Stieda was the first North American (yes, BEFORE Lance) to get the Yellow jersey. Steve Bauer has numerous yellow jerseys in his closet at home, including a run of a week in 1990.
Other Canadian connections: Cervelo bikes is based out of Ontario and Cannondale Bikes is a Canadian owned by Canadain Dorel Corporation.
