DUATHLON RACE RESULTS MAY 18 - PAT THE WINNER!

Pat Ferris made it two duathlon wins in a row, Tuesday night, on the Baldonnel circuit. He had a time of 30:39 minutes, only 20 seconds ahead of Bob Andrews. Roger St. Jean was third at 31:52, Andrew Spence 32:45 for 4th and Sandy McDonald 5th at 33:45.

Owen Giebelhaus was 6th at 34:06, Rob Churchill 35:12, Melanie Chapple 35:28 and Lisa Verbisky 36:14.

Coming Thursday night is the Baldonnel time trial at 7 pm. Sunday is a 40 km time trial at Goodlow at 11 am.

CHALL CUP RACING IN GRANDE PRAIRIE MAY 16 - GP WINS DAY AND TAKES OVERALL LEAD!

Grande Prairie riders won both the Challenge Cup stages, Sunday, as well as outpointing the Blizzards for the day and taking over the lead in Challenge Cup points after four events. GP now leads with 106 points to the defending champion Blizzards 76 and Dawson Creek's 43. The Blizzards were outnumbered and out pointed at both events.

Kevin Shaw was the fastest Blizzard in the morning Grovedale Hill climb with a 5th place finish. A late race flat tire blew Shaws' chance for a high finish in the afternoon road race. Stephen Ferris was top Blizzard in the 60 km road race with third place. Pat Ferris won the 45 km event.

Grovedale hill climb times had Blaine Richter winning with a 5:41 minute time. Verner Folsher 6:19, Kase Devries 6:28, Garth Campbell 8:19, Kevin Saw 7:20, Warren Miller 8:19, Francis Plum 9:00 and Sam Keats 9:03.

Geoff McDonald of GP won the 60 k Highway 40 road race with 1:49:24, just ahead of Blaine Richter. Stephen Ferris was third at 1:51:02 and Verner Folsher 4th at 1:51:53. Kase Devries was 5th at 1:52:49. Richard Fletcher was 6th at 1:57:29, Garth Campbell 1:59:47, Warren Miller 2:17:14 and Kevin Saw 2:12:43 after repairing a flat tire.

Pat Ferris won the sprint for the 45 k at 1:36:33, from Dave Jaeger and Sam Keats. Jamie Magrove was 4th at 1:43:19 and Francis Plum 1:43:29. Steve Magusin won the 30 k at 1:17:00, just ahead of Nicole Magrove.

MAY 13 - 16 K TT RESULTS - BLIZZARD BIKE CLUB

Colter Young set the fastest Baldonnel 16 k time of the season, Thursday night, with a blazing fast 22:30 minutes. Stephen Ferris was second at 25:00 and Bob Andrews third at 25:29. Pat Ferris was 4th at 25:42 and Kevin Shaw 5th at 26:01.

George Gamble was 6th at 26:05, Roger St. Jean 26:15, Peter King 26:27, Les Elliott 26:45 and Tim Gladysz 28:07 for the top ten times.

Richard Wood was 11th at 28:19, Dean Lowry 29:12, Sam Keats 29:33, Owen Giebelhaus 30:39, Adam Currie 35:48 and Dawn Gladysz 49:50.

Tristen Bourassa did 26:20 for 8 km.

Coming up Sunday:

The first Challenge Cup in GP for the season. It will be a hill climb at Grovedale at 11 am and a road race at 2 pm (both at Alberta time). The Blizzards currently lead the points for the season after two races out of the nine race series.

Pat Ferris won the Tuesday night Baldonnel duathlon with a time of 32:07 minutes. Bob Andrews was second at 32:24 and Roger St. Jean third at 32:30. Andrew Spence was 4th at 33:50 and Jolea Bilodeau 5th at 34:28.
George Gamble was 6th at 34:58, Owen Giebelhaus 35:22, Rob Churchill 35:33, Melanie Chapple 36:48 and Lisa Verbisky 37:16.

Perfect conditions for a fast night! Warm and almost windless.

Pat Ferris lead from start to finish with Bob and Roger close behind at the end.

KING OF SPRING/QUEEN OF SPRING ROAD RACE - COLTER AND JOLEA WIN!

Colter Young won the King of Spring road race, Sunday with a time of 1:19:11 minutes for the 47 km Montney out and back course. George Gamble was second at 1:24:17. Jolea Bilodeau won the Queen Of Spring trophy and came in third overall at 1:24:45. Roger St. Jean was 4th at 1:25:11 and 2009 KOS winner Pat Ferris was 5th at 1:29:18.

2005 winner Tim Gladysz won the sprint for 6th from Bob Andrews and Richard Wood, all at 1:31:35. August Battiston had 1:32:35, Ken Nix 1:33:45, Sam Keats 1:35:55, Owen Giebelhaus 1:38:58 and 2009 Queen of Spring winner Sandy McDonald had 1:41:32. Dawn Gladysz had 1:09:00 for 25 km.
