Ryan Dumaresq won a tough 2 lap mountain bike, Sunday, with a time of 48:19 minutes for the 10 k event. Richard Howes was second at 49:12 and George Gamble third at 49:42. Gary Hilderman had 52:20 for 4th and Kevin Shaw 55:51 for 5th.
Tammy Howes was 6th at 59:49, Pat Ferris 1:02:17, Francis Plum (GP) 1:03:10 and Adam Currie 1:12:56. Trevor McDonnell had mechanical difficulties and was forced to stop.
The group had a fast start with Richard Howes getting the early lead. Ryan Dumaresq eventually caught and passed him to get the win. George Gamble made an excellent come from behind to grab third from Gary Hilderman. Past Club MTB champions Trevor McDonnell and Pat Ferris were bedevilled with mechanicals and flat tires that kept them out of the running.
Connor McDonnell won the 2 lap novice race at 9:38 with Daric McDonnell second at 10:43. LT McDonnell had 6:01 for the 1 lap event.

The Blizzards have a contingent of athletes at the Penticton Ironman for Sunday's event.

Kevin Shaw won a cold and windy Baldonnel time trial, Thursday night, with a time of 25:40. Sandy McDonald was second at 26:16 and George Gamble third at 27:00. Trevor McDonnell was 4th at 27:39 and Richard Wood 5th at 27:48. Ken Nix was 6th at 30:32.
Connor McDonnell won t he 8 km with 22:59. Daric McDonnell was second at 26:01 and LT McDonnell third at 35:53.

It is the first Sunday mountain race of the 2010 season at 11 am on the Cactus Trails on the 103 road. Local riders will compete on the excellent 5 km circuit.
2009 Champion Trevor McDonnell will be competing with Gary Hilderman, Richard Howes and four-time past champ Pat Ferris. Kevin Shaw is the top guy on a road bike but also very good on a mountain bike as is Ryan Dumaresq.
Race time at the Cactus is 11 am.

Gary Hilderman won the Cactus series race #7, Wednesday night. He had a time of 24:14 minutes for a long loop. Richard Howes was close behind at 24:23. Ryan Dumeresq was third at 25:06 and Pat Ferris 4th at 25:45. Trevor McDonnell was 5th at 26:59.
Tammy Howes was 6th at 29:58, Adam Currie 35:19 and Ken Nix 38:04. LT McDonnell had 3:05 minutes for the little loop.

Coming up:
-Thursday Baldonnel time trial at 7 pm
-Sunday is the first Sunday mountain bike race of the season. 2009 Champion Trevor McDonnel will try to hold off double Wednesday night winner Gary Hilderman, 4 time past champ Pat Ferris and a fast Richard Howes. This should be an interesting series on the new Cactus Trails, on the 103 road.
