Gord 'The Hammer' Harris was the repeat winner of the Monday night Blizzard Bike Club Duathlon #2 , with a personal best 30:30 minutes. Pat Ferris second at 31:40 and Keith Koebel third with 33:02. Simon Andrews was 4th with 33:30 and Darren Guliov 5th at 33:31.
Kathryn Fairweather was 6th with 34:44, Sandy McDonald 35:18, Grant Spelsberg 35:42, Russ Wilson 37:45, Lisa Verbisky 38:01. In the 1km run, 8km bike and 1km run the results were Roger St. Jean with 24:43 and Melanie Olthuis with 26:24.
Twelve participants come out to compete in the run, bike, run with several of the althletes were doing their first ever duathlon so it was a great night for the first effort.Conditions were almost perfect with light winds and mild temperature, especially compared to last week where the wind chill was well below freezing.
Gord Harris took first place in the men's event to lead the series with 10 points and Kathryn Fairweather is the leading woman, also with 10 points for the two consecutive wins. In the under 19 age group, Jolea Bilodeau is leading with 5 points for the win last week.
Next Duathlon is May 5.
